Waaree Energies becomes the largest solar panel manufacturer in India

Waaree Energies has become India’s largest solar panel manufacturer with the launch of the 1GW plant in Vapi, Gujarat, taking their manufacturing capacity to 1.5 GW. The first Waaree unit in Surat, Gujarat, which was established in 2007, has a capacity of 500 MW. With this new plant, Waaree Energies is looking at extending current product lines as well as expanding its presence in India, and internationally. The new facility underlines Waaree’s commitment towards the Government’s ambitious target of 225 GW of renewable energy by2022, and its vision for Make in India.
Sunil Rathi, Director, Waaree Energies Ltd says, “Waaree Energies has been a preferred partner for the solar transformation in India, and is always seeking new avenues to enhance its capabilities to make solar power accessible to all. We have already supplied over 1.7 GW of solar panels till date, and commissioned over 500 MW of solar EPC in India. At 1.5 GW, we are now the largest solar module manufacturer in the country and are better equipped to cater to solar needs of the country, and aid the Government inachieving the solar targets set for 2022.”
