An established name in the CNG market and one of the largest suppliers of automotive components to OEMs of vehicles that run on alternative gas fuels across India, Greenfuel Energy Solutions has the experience and gravitas of long years in the automotive industry. Now, with a vision to empower the new era of e-mobility, Greenfuel takes the lead in developing and manufacturing state-of-the-art energy storage solutions that are not only world-class, but custom-engineered to meet the unique requirements of local conditions.
Featuring extensive R&D and incorporating original technology meticulously engineered in-house, the company holds multiple patents on the design of its modular lithium battery packs. With complete in-house capabilities for hardware design, embedded software and safety critical control systems, Greenfuel’s battery packs are proudly “Made in India”. In recognition of the company’s endeavours, Managing Director Akshay Kashyap was awarded the “Make in India” Emerging Entrepreneur Award in the field of automobiles for the year 2018.
Modular and scalable
Modular in design, Greenfuel’s battery packs can be seamlessly scaled up or down for different vehicle requirements, resulting in least development time and significant savings for customers. A critical distinguishing feature of these battery packs is the robust control module or Battery Management System (BMS) that automatically adapts to scale, eliminating the need for any reprogramming or other cumbersome procedures.
Key features
The specially designed BMS has smart features like controlling the input and output current, temperature monitoring, depth of discharge, rate of discharge and indicating state of health, a key differentiator between two identical battery packs.
Premium components
Unlike other batteries available in the market that can incorporate below-par components sourced from China, Greenfuel’s battery packs are equipped with premium 18650 cylindrical NMC chemistry cells imported exclusively from reliable suppliers in Japan and Korea.
Superior thermal management
Another unique distinguishing feature of Greenfuel’s battery packs is the use of special proprietary thermal materials that ensure optimal cooling and safety even in high temperatures and in the most rugged conditions. A special “Bus Bar” design ensures uniform heat dissipation and smooth current flow.
The product features redundant sensors for temperature and voltages and an isolated signalling interface. It is certified for compliance with ISO 13849-1 safety standards.
Sustainability
With a firm commitment to the protection of the environment and sustainable growth, Greenfuel’s management are actively engaged with stakeholders in both the private and public sectors to influence policy relating to the industry.
Recently, Greenfuel MD Akshay Kashyap spoke of the need to have clear policy guidelines for collection, storage, transportation and recycle of waste or used lithium-ion batteries. Kashyap said his company had spent two years on R&D to be able to develop lithium-ion battery packs that are optimally suited to the climatic conditions as well as the traffic situation of the country. Investment and responsive policymaking in the area of research and development for efficient waste management would ensure the aims of ethical business practices and sustainability to which is company is dedicated, he said.
Setting itself apart from brands that focus on packaging over performance, Greenfuel’s lithium-ion battery packs deliver on both form and functionality. With its impeccable track record in the automotive industry and a vision to set standards, the company looks to energise the nascent e-mobility sector in the country with this product.
