In a discussion with Megha Iyer of EPR, Sachin Bhalla, Senior Vice President-Marketing, Luminous Power Technologies talks about Luminous’s participation in REI Expo 2019 and their product launches.

How is your experience of REI Expo?
The number of people showing up was very impressing this year, we had the busiest stall in this event; REI is quite popular even in shortage of space they are trying to do justice.

How do you view REI as a top-notch event? How valuable is this event globally?
Cannot say globally, but in India, REI is the biggest event as it attracts the biggest footfall. Our partners as far as from Kerala visit the event, just to see what technologies are being launched in the market, it is important as solar sector is such in which technology keeps on changing every year. REI is very exciting place to showcase our products.

Can you highlight few of the products that were showcased at the expo?
We recently launched micro-inverters, hybrid and a new PC which will be connected with a dongle where you can see all the power generation and savings. We will be having an app for that. We also came up with customised solar solution which would be like being at home and you will be able to ask for solar solutions and we would provide the same with customised designs and installations with the help of our partner energy belt solutions.

Will there be cost difference if you are providing customised solar solution?
No, there won’t be any much difference. In solar, the important thing is to configure it properly. If the system is not configured properly, then the right power won’t be generated and hence what we are trying to do is concentrate on the quality with our trained design engineers to design advance software and then install the system.
