The government has set up Rs. 5331.5 crores for Renewable power projects on and off the grid. The government has authorised an initial investment of Rs. 19,744 crores for the National Hydrogen Mission, of which Rs. 17,000 crores would be allocated to incentives for electrolysers and green hydrogen manufacture in India. In contrast, Rs. 400 crores would be spent on developing green hydrogen hubs.
This budget ensures that business-as-usual allocations will keep the momentum for non-fossil fuel capacity growth going forward. Furthermore, despite a little rise in the variability of fuel-level generation, the allocation to transmission and evacuation facilities will boost grid stability.
On that point, EPR Magazine hosted an ‘Interactive Session’ on the 20th of March, to examine the “Roadmap for India’s Renewable Energy Ecosystem.” Leaders from the renewable energy and storage sectors experts discussed the competitiveness of hydrogen production, self-reliance in energy storage, cost terms, and reliance on the short-term power market.Cookie Consent
